Life after PhD with Cosimo Lobello
Join us for the upcoming session of the Life after PhD event series. This time, we are excited to welcome Cosimo Lobello, a CEITEC MU alumnus who currently serves as a Postdoc Associate at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia (USA).
Cosimo's academic journey began with a bachelor’s degree in Life Science and a master’s degree in medical biotechnology at the University of Perugia (Italy). During his master's thesis, he delved into genetics, high throughput techniques, and hemato-oncology. His pursuit of knowledge led him to Germany, where he worked in an Immunological laboratory before embarking on his PhD journey at CEITEC MU.
His PhD was part of the prestigious European Marie-Curie project 'ALKATRAS', where he focused on investigating the mutational landscape in a rare T-cell lymphoma. Specifically, Cosimo explored the intricate relationship between mutations and prognosis in these patients. After successfully defending his PhD, he ventured to Philadelphia to continue his academic endeavors.
In his current role at Fox Chase Cancer Center, Cosimo's research continues to revolve around hematological malignancies, particularly lymphomas, with an expanded focus on epigenetics.
